LA TEX CITY COVERAGE

It's been about a month or so since our last show but we are still getting some coverage. Since we started the blog post Site 03, let's review at what we did with over 500 red balloons and 100 ft of chicken wire. At the end of Yale Street in Chinatown (Los Angeles) there is a large cement spiral ramp that leads to the pedestrian crosswalk over the 110. This connects Angelino Heights with Chinatown. The bridge is not used that often by people but it is most definitely trafficked. Sometimes homeless folk are sleeping on the spiral, sometimes its parents walking across with there kids, elderly Chinese people, or even just a girl trying to get to work. The Chinatown Gold Line stop is the closest metro stop to the area so people can walk to it from here.
A good amount of people came to our installation. Micheal from the Killsonic came and played with his upright base under the balloon canopy. The sonic vibrations got caught in the latex and were reverberated for all to feel. When LA TEX CITY was done, we had everyone take a pin and pop the balloons. The sound was great, echoing over the 110.
TRYHARDER blog and Beautiful Decay both have done postings on us so far. Check them OUT!
